North Carolina, Duke prepare for ACC Lacrosse Championship Tournament

North Carolina vs. Duke - Jack Tarr

Both the fifth-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels and seventh-ranked Duke Blue Devils will be ready to take each other on in their semi-final match-up in the upcoming 2013 ACC Men's Lacrosse Championship tournament that will take place at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C. beginning on Fri. Apr. 26.

The Tar Heels (10-3) beat the third Division I team in the state, the first-year High Point Panthers (3-11), at Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill on Saturday, handing their guests a 20-8 loss.

The Tar Heels' senior captain Marcus Holman set a new school record for most consecutive games with a goal (28) while leading his team to its seventh straight win since losing to the Blue Devils on Mar. 13.

The Blue Devils (10-4) prepare to face off against the Big East's Rutgers Scarlet Knights (2-11) at Yurcak Field in Brunswick, N.J., looking to extend their current eight-game win streak, the longest current active run in the nation.

Duke outlasted and outblasted  fellow ACC member, the Virginia Cavaliers last week by a score of 19-16 and are carrying a lot of positive momentum late in the season as tournament time approaches.

With both the Tar Heels and Blue Devils set on a collision course to meet next week, there is no doubt that their second meeting of the season could go down as one of the best games ever played between the two schools.

Get ready for a big scoring explosion between these two teams on Friday.

In the meantime, a look back:
