Game Notes:
Both teams possess a storied history in conference tournament play and will face each other in the final for only the fourth time and first since 1996.
Back then, it was the Tar Heels who beat the Cavaliers 13-11 to win the 1996 ACC title, the last time that North Carolina hoisted the tournament trophy.
The Tar Heels are 18-17 in ACC tournament play with seven championship titles while the Cavaliers hold a slightly better 20-7 resume to go along with six tournament wins.
