Game Notes:

The Tar Heels, ranked third nationally, are looking to avenge an 11-8 loss to the Blue Devils, ranked sixth nationally, back in mid-March at Fetzer Field.

Since then, both teams have gone on two of the best winning  streaks in the country as Duke is riding a nine-game unbeaten streak with the Tar Heels haven't lost in seven games, since losing to the Blue Devils.

Both teams top the ACC in numerous categories including goals per game (Duke - 13.53, UNC - 12.77), and assists per game (Duke -  8.07, UNC - 7.08), and each has players topping the league's scoring lists.

Duke's Jordan Wolf leads the ACC with 2.67 goals per game, followed closely behind by both North Carolina's Joey Sankey and Marcus Holman who have averaged 2.46 goals per game.

Holman leads the ACC tallying 4.77 points per game with Wolf sitting in close second with 3.93 points per game.

Bottom line, on paper both teams are sitting more or less even, which sets up for another great rival game in the Triangle as each team will battle for a place in the ACC Championship final game on Sunday.

Starting lineups will for tonight's game:

North Carolina, Duke prepare for ACC Lacrosse Championship Tournament

North Carolina vs. Duke - Jack Tarr
---
Both the fifth-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels and seventh-ranked Duke Blue Devils will be ready to take each other on in their semi-final match-up in the upcoming 2013 ACC Men's Lacrosse Championship tournament that will take place at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C. beginning on Fri. Apr. 26.

The Tar Heels (10-3) beat the third Division I team in the state, the first-year High Point Panthers (3-11), at Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill on Saturday, handing their guests a 20-8 loss.

The Tar Heels' senior captain Marcus Holman set a new school record for most consecutive games with a goal (28) while leading his team to its seventh straight win since losing to the Blue Devils on Mar. 13.

The Blue Devils (10-4) prepare to face off against the Big East's Rutgers Scarlet Knights (2-11) at Yurcak Field in Brunswick, N.J., looking to extend their current eight-game win streak, the longest current active run in the nation.

Duke outlasted and outblasted  fellow ACC member, the Virginia Cavaliers last week by a score of 19-16 and are carrying a lot of positive momentum late in the season as tournament time approaches.

With both the Tar Heels and Blue Devils set on a collision course to meet next week, there is no doubt that their second meeting of the season could go down as one of the best games ever played between the two schools.

Get ready for a big scoring explosion between these two teams on Friday.

In the meantime, a look back:
