Holman, Fowler earn ACC honors

The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) announced from its offices in Greensboro, N.C. on Tuesday, that North Carolina Tar Heels attackman Marcus Holman and Duke Blue Devils midfielder Brendan Fowler were named ACC Men’s Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for the week ending on Monday, Feb 11.

Holman is points leader

Holman led the Tar Heel attack unit which produced 10 goals and 8 assists in North Carolina’s 16-8 season-opening win over Air Force

The Tar Heels captain had two goals and six assists, the most  helpers in a game by a Tar Heel since April 12, 1997. 

His eight points were just two short of his career high of 10 and matched his second highest total in his career.

Fowler wins draws, accumulates GB's

A defensive midfielder and faceoff specialist, Fowler picked up 19 ground balls and won 59 percent of his faceoffs (30-of-51) to help Duke to a 1-1 start to its season. 
 
Against No. 8 Denver to start the season, he won 18-of-30 faceoffs and scooped a career-high 11 ground balls. 
 
On Sunday, Fowler tallied eight ground balls and won 12-of-21 draws in a 21-9 win over Jacksonville.
